This
course provides training recommended for Officers for keeping
a navigational watch on ships as per requirements of 46 CFR
10.205(0) and section B-V111/2 of the STCW convention 1978 as
amended in 1995 and also covers the mandatory training in Crisis
Management and Human Behavior at management level as per requirements
of section A-V/2 paragraph 5 of the STCW Convention 1978 as
amended in 1995. The Course duration would be minimum of 30
hours (5 days). The Course is packaged in a ready to use format.
This
consists of following:
A
CBT with over 10 hours of interactive presentation with audiovisuals,
3D graphics, Voice-overs wherein 18 chapters dealing with Human
behavioral dimensions are extensively discussed. The student
is expected to play the CD-Rom at his pace, with his personal
settings (options available to change several settings as per
the students choice). At the end of each Chapter, the student
completes the exercise on that Chapter in the Student Work Book
provided. The Student answers few one-line answer questions
and has a brain storming sessions with co-students on the larger
issues and comes up with the group’s assessment.

self-test is also programmed – wherein the Instructor
can set the questions with options. The student completes
the test and the result is saved in a text file, which can
be forwarded as an attachment.
