Marine Power Plant
&
Auxiliary Machinery Simulator Course
IMC's
Marine Power Plant &
Auxiliary Machinery simulation modules meet the STCW requirements
for Mates, Masters and Engineers. A combination of simulators & CBTs
with assessment from a virtual instructor makes this course both
interactive and realistic
Purpose
STCW 95, Part A II/2
requires that all masters and chief mates on ships of 500 Gross
tonnage or more require to demonstrate competence in:-
v
Operating principles of marine power plants
v
Ships auxiliary machinery
v
General Engineering terms
Our 5-day (35Hrs) course
is designed to providing good theoretical & practical
knowledge in marine engineering. Various operations of a marine
power plant & auxiliary machinery actually used on ships are
simulated.
The
machinery and system in the simulation exercises are realistic to allow
acquisition of real skills. The simulator's ability to assess students through a "Virtual Instructor" ensures that
the candidates are assessed uniformly prior to the debrief.
The course is intended for training Mates, Masters and Junior
Engineers. All equipments simulated are based on popular OEM
machinery actually used on board modern ships.
The Simulator
At IMC we use a
combined package of simulator and CBT that cover marine power plant
equipment and other auxiliary machinery. The simulator models are
both interactive and realistic. Each one provides control panels and
system installation diagrams. Simulator modules offer the ability to
regulate various system parameters. In the event of a fault, the
simulators will react just as the equipment would in real life,
including alarms, shutdowns tanks overfilling etc... Digitized
sound effects for pumps, engines, compressors and buzzers all add to
the simulators realism.
The Marine
Power Plant & Auxiliary Machinery simulator consists of the
following modules:-
-
Water Pumps
-
Steering Gear Installation
-
Hydrophore Installation
-
Oily Water Separator
-
Fresh Water Generator
-
Auxiliary Steam Boiler Installation
-
Refrigerating Plant
-
Piston Compressor
-
Biological Sewage Treatment Plan
-
Diesel Engines
-
Diesel Engine Generators
-
Fuel Oil Treatment Plant
-
Marine Diesel Engine Monitoring Systems
-
Controllable Pitch Propeller Installation
Our Power Plant &
Auxiliary Machinery simulator program can be tailored to specific
needs of individual shipping companies. One day detailed modular
course on any of the auxiliary machinery mentioned above can be
conducted at request.
